Overview
Genesis Bible Institute, the prison ministry arm of Genesis College and Seminary, is an educational ministry that offers distance learning courses to prisoners at no cost. The courses have been developed with the input of prisoners, making the program relevant to the needs, struggles, and challenges inmates face. Our challenging curriculum is designed to transform our learners from the inside out by keeping them focused on God's Word and allowing his truth to set them free (John 8:32). It's our belief that this focus leads students to true and lasting rehabilitation.

How the Program Works
Courses are mailed to inmates, and once work is completed, learners mail it back to the institute for grading. Assignments are then assessed by qualified teachers and pastors who provide encouraging and constructive feedback. Genesis also invites the partnership of willing chaplains to facilitate program delivery. Genesis' student body currently consists of prisoners in seven U.S. states.

Rehabilitation and Reentry Courses

Genesis Bible Institute offers practical rehabilitation and reentry courses to help inmates. The courses are designed to meet a wide range of learning abilities and include topics such as Creating a Reentry Success Plan, How to Create a Resume and Cover Letter, Parenting From Prison, and Overcoming Substance Abuse. Rehabilitation and reentry courses exams are multiple-choice based, and upon completion of each course, students earn a certificate of achievement.

Tiered Bible-Based Coursework
Genesis Bible Institute offers a wide assortment of Bible-based courses at three different levels. These courses promote spiritual and moral rehabilitation while teaching learners biblical truth and gospel principles that effect their thoughts, decisions, and behaviors. GBI also provides instruction and development in basic reading comprehension, literacy, and writing skills.
