I am writing to express my support for Genesis Bible Institute. As a member of its advisory board, I endorse the contribution Genesis is making as they provide biblical training to inmates across the country. God is using this ministry to change lives as men and women are spiritually transformed.

It is an honor for me to give a heart-felt endorsement for Chairman David N. Johnson, the staff, and program of the Genesis College & Seminary / Bible Institute (Tucson, AZ)! Moreover, it is a privilege to serve on the Advisory Board for such a Bible-based institution and offer whatever guidance I can as we minister to a fallen and needy world.

I’m honored to join the Genesis team and be part of what God is doing to reach incarcerated men and women across the country. During my Major League Baseball career, I had the privilege of umpiring some unforgettable moments, including three perfect games, Greg Maddux’s 300th win, and five World Series. Today, I’m humbled to serve on a different field — the mission field — bringing the hope of the Gospel to those behind bars. Over the past year, I have worked alongside a team of umpires and professional athletes to hold events inside prisons, witnessing firsthand how God is powerfully at work in the prison system. I am excited to offer my support and counsel to Genesis College and Seminary as the ministry continues to disciple and transform lives throughout the nation.
