THE 250: Pursuing Holiness
A focus on inward change and moral rehabilitation, challenging students to address cognitive distortions, false beliefs, unhealthy habits, and anti-social behavior as they pursue holiness. Students will explore the timeless principles and guidelines of holiness to equip them to joyfully obey God’s commands.
THE 260: The Attributes of God
An introduction to the nature of God and how his attributes directly apply to a believer’s victorious life in Christ. Students will gain a theological understanding of the majesty and holiness of God and how he sovereignly works in creation for their good and his glory. This course challenges students to become more like Christ, reflecting such attributes as God’s grace and mercy.
THE 275: Righteous in Christ
An introduction to righteousness as the basis for the Christian life and foundation for joy. Students apply righteousness to real life situations and grasp how righteousness is inextricably linked to doctrine, forgiveness, justification by faith, and death to sin. This course opens up a new avenue of joy for each student as they realize their entire Christian life is rooted in the righteousness of Christ.
THE 280: The Life of Christ
An examination of the life, death, and resurrection of Christ from Mark’s perspective. Students will learn how the story of Jesus is cosmic and historical yet personal. The goal of the course is for students to engage Christ in such a way that his indelible imprint is left on each student’s spiritual journey.
THE 295: Christian Doctrine
A study of thirteen foundational truths of the Bible. Students gain a deeper insight into the central biblical teachings of the Christian faith. This course challenges students to grasp and apply the major doctrines of Scripture to their lives and ministry, igniting a burning passion for Christ.
THE 296: Introduction to Apologetics
An exploration of the purpose, function and techniques of apologetics and its role in Christianity and evangelism. Students learn to form arguments that show Christianity is true and other beliefs are false.
THE 370: Theology and Practice of Prayer
An in-depth survey of Christian prayer. Students explore the theology, categories, and practice of prayer using the insights of modern and historical theologians. Emphasis is given to the application of prayer in the lives of ministers and leaders.
THE 377: Apologetics
A focused instruction in the spiritual application of Christian apologetics. Students learn to couple arguments with sound evidence to build positive cases for their belief in God while debunking atheistic assertions.
THE 380: Spirit-Empowered Living
An introduction to living a Spirit-filled life. Students learn how to maintain emotional health, redeem relationships, be perfected through suffering and forgive others as they discover how to live their lives through the power of the Holy Spirit.
THE 450: The Pursuit of God
An exploration of A. W. Tozer’s Pursuit of God. Students concentrate on re-evaluating their relationship with God as they discover what true communion entails. The goal of this course is to teach students to raise God to his rightful place in their lives.
THE 453: Jesus: A Historical and Theological Perspective
A look into the life and ministry of Jesus from a historical and theological perspective. Students are challenged to develop a deeper understanding of Christology and search out all the evidences for the historical reliability of the gospels. This course emboldens students to know Jesus as he really was and is and to delight in him as true, beautiful, and satisfying.
THE 460: Systematic Theology I
An examination of Bibliology, Theology Proper, Anthropology and Christology. This course explores the central doctrines of the Bible in a clear manner using Scripture as its basis. Students will discover that theology is not dry and boring, but meant to be lived, prayed and sung. Students will learn that when studied rightly, true theology leads to growth in their
Christian lives and enables them to give instruction in sound doctrine.
THE 461: Systematic Theology II
A survey of Soteriology, Ecclesiology, and Eschatology. Students develop a deeper
understanding of salvation, the church’s purpose, and the end times, enabling them to answer questions regarding the Christian faith.
THE 470: Theology of Suffering
An introduction to the theology of pain and suffering. This course focuses on the causes and purposes of pain, the hope we have in Christ Jesus, and how students can minister healing to those who are hurting and afflicted.
