CHL 220: Spiritual Leadership
An examination of the principles of spiritual leadership. Emphasis is given to the essential qualities of discipline, vision, humility, and integrity. The course is designed to equip pastors, leaders, and church members with Bible knowledge, Christian character, and servant leadership skills.
CHL 267: Biblical Leadership – Pastoral Epistles
An introduction to the character and calling of spiritual leaders. The course addresses important leadership topics for pastors and elders, including the duties and qualifications of overseers and the responsibilities leaders have to guide, guard and nourish God’s people.
CHL 400: Directed Study
An independent study course for students with unique circumstances and needs. On rare occasions students can complete alternative coursework independently under the guidance/direction of Genesis faculty. Course content is student specific.
CHL 410: Maximize Your Leadership Potential
An exploration of the vision, values, influence, and motivation that are trademarks of successful servant leaders. Special emphasis is given to developing the leader within. Learners will evaluate their own leadership effectiveness and design a plan for personal growth and development.
CHL 422: Servant Leadership
An examination of the leadership principles of Christ. The course teaches students to humbly and sacrificially serve those they lead in the context of selfless love. Special emphasis is given to helping students discover their spiritual gifts and the contributions they can make for the common good of a missional community.
CHL 430: Transformational Preaching
An introduction to the principles of preaching Christ from all of Scripture. Particular emphasis is given to the power of the gospel to change people’s lives. Students will write and deliver gospel centric sermons that communicate faith in an age of skepticism.
CHL 440: Parenting Principles
An examination of 14 gospel principles that cultivate effective parenting. Special emphasis is given to the life-giving power of grace to raise godly children. Students will learn how to encourage, call, and train their children to willingly and joyfully live as disciples of Jesus Christ.
CHL 490: My Covenant
How will students safeguard their commitment to be Christ-exalting leaders in their homes, churches, workplaces, and communities, enabling them to make a kingdom impact with their lives? In the “My Covenant” course, students create a binding agreement with God, signed by witnesses regarding their life and ministry. Special attention is given to the student’s spiritual growth, leadership, Christ-like character, family life and personal life.
