I am writing to express my support for Genesis Bible Institute. As a member of its advisory board, I endorse the contribution Genesis is making as they provide biblical training to inmates across the country. God is using this ministry to change lives as men and women are spiritually transformed.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of our efforts to bring about true rehabilitation and transformation.

It is an honor for me to give a heart-felt endorsement for Chairman David N. Johnson, the staff, and program of the Genesis College & Seminary / Bible Institute (Tucson, AZ)! Moreover, it is a privilege to serve on the Advisory Board for such a Bible-based institution and offer whatever guidance I can as we minister to a fallen and needy world.

I am confident that God is using Genesis in a mighty way to provide Biblical training to inmates across the country and that the lives of men and women are being spiritually transformed to do even greater work for the Lord’s kingdom. Respectfully…

It is a privilege to serve on the Advisory Board for Genesis College and Seminary, an institution that truly embodies God’s heart for new beginnings. As someone who has personally experienced the power of redemption and second chances, I am passionate about the mission of preparing humble hearts to begin again. Genesis is raising up Christ-exalting leaders who will impact the world with the love and truth of Jesus Christ. I am honored to support this ministry as it equips disciples to pursue God-sized dreams and make a lasting Kingdom impact both inside and outside prison walls.

I’m honored to join the Genesis team and be part of what God is doing to reach incarcerated men and women across the country. During my Major League Baseball career, I had the privilege of umpiring some unforgettable moments, including three perfect games, Greg Maddux’s 300th win, and five World Series. Today, I’m humbled to serve on a different field — the mission field — bringing the hope of the Gospel to those behind bars. Over the past year, I have worked alongside a team of umpires and professional athletes to hold events inside prisons, witnessing firsthand how God is powerfully at work in the prison system. I am excited to offer my support and counsel to Genesis College and Seminary as the ministry continues to disciple and transform lives throughout the nation.

It is an honor and privilege to serve on the Genesis Advisory Board. I have had dear friends who experienced the loneliness and isolation of incarceration (in Hanoi and in State prison) and found hope and renewal through Bible study and Christian education. I am committed to supporting Genesis any way I can.

Prisons often accentuate "Correction" in their title but often lack emphasis on "Rehabilitation." I am thankful for the opportunity to contribute to Genesis's mission. The curriculum offers believers a second chance through quality distance learning. It's a privilege to serve on the Advisory Board.

David Daniel

Director of Genesis College Press

David Daniel serves as the Director of Genesis College Press and is committed to advancing the mission of Genesis College & Seminary and the spread of the Gospel. David previously served in pastoral ministry until 2019, when personal decisions led to a period of incarceration. During that season of his life, he met Jonathan Johnson, the younger brother of David Johnson, and the two developed a lasting friendship. Their friendship began during the early stages of what would become Genesis College & Seminary, giving David a unique connection to the institution and its development.

Since his release, David has sought opportunities to use his experiences, abilities, and renewed sense of purpose in service to God and others. As Director of Genesis College Press and a member of the Advisory Board, he desires to assist Genesis College & Seminary in any way he can, particularly through publishing, ministry, and supporting its mission. David views his story as one of redemption and restoration and is grateful for the opportunity to serve Christ by helping equip others and advance the Gospel for the glory of God and the growth of His Kingdom.
