CHM 102/302: College Success
An overview of the expectations for success at Genesis College & Seminary. Students 1) learn how to navigate through their degree program, 2) create S.M.A.R.T. goals in three areas of their lives, and 3) write a paper describing how they will make their lives count for God’s kingdom.
CHM 238: Jonah: the Reluctant Minister
An introduction to the message purpose, uniqueness, and key theological themes of Jonah. Students learn how to apply the “Jonah Principle” to their lives and develop a heart for the ministry of compassion.
CHM 270: James: Social Justice
An introduction to the book of James with particular attention given to social justice and personal ethics. Students will explore James verse by verse, examining the book’s various themes and how these themes apply to their personal lives.
CHM 285: Introduction to Christian Ministry
A study of the underlying and foundational components necessary for effective ministry within the local church context. Special attention is given to the kingdom impact church members can make when they come together as a team to fulfill God’s purpose.
CHM 299: Program Review and Comprehensive Exam
Students demonstrate mastery of biblical and ministerial knowledge they acquired through their course study. The exam also includes testing on the Bible verses students memorized in their degree program.
CHM 372: Principles of Evangelism
An introduction to evangelism and discipleship as modeled by Jesus and his disciples. Students focus on the theological principles and practical ministry strategies involved in gospel proclamation. This course teaches students to confidently share the life-transforming gospel with their families, their cities, and the world.
CHM 375: Lifestyle of Worship
An introduction to worship as a way of life. This course inspires students to “continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God” (Hebrews 13:5) so that their lives become an unending song of worship.
CHM 400: Directed Study
An independent study course for students with unique circumstances and needs. On rare occasions students can complete alternative coursework independently under the guidance/direction of Genesis faculty. Course content is student-specific.
CHM 432: Ministering to the Addicted and Afflicted
An introduction to the Christ-centered steps of recovery. Students learn how to break their own addictions through the power of the gospel and how to minister hope and healing to others who are in bondage to addictions.
CHM 435: Radical Christian Ministry
An urgent call to rise above the status quo and become a Spirit-empowered agent of change and transformation in the home, the church, and the world.
CHM 498: Senior Capstone Project
As the crowning achievement of a student’s academic journey, the Senior Capstone Project demonstrates how the student will take the first step to become a Christ-exalting leader in his or her home, church, workplace, or community. Students will apply the knowledge they gained in their fields of study to a real-life problem or a ministry situation or need.
