Seminary Learning Outcomes
The Seminary uses the following outcomes to measure student learning success in Master and Doctoral courses. Each Seminary course contributes to these overall Seminary objectives:
Learning Outcomes
Graduates of Seminary programs will be able to: | ||
1 | Scripture | Clearly explain the nature and function of Biblical authority, demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Old and New Testaments, including a unifying view of the 66 canonical books, and interpret Scripture in accordance with accepted exegetical and hermeneutical methods. |
2 | Theology | Demonstrate expertise of Orthodox Christian theology and other evangelical, God-honoring theological methods and processes. |
3 | Sanctidication | Demonstrate a growing passion for the Triune God and an unwavering commitment to spiritual transformation, maturity, and moral conduct. |
4 | Ministry / Leadership | Preach and teach the meaning of Scripture with clarity and zeal, shepherd and lead missional communities, equip and develop leaders, and cast a leadership vision for the ministries or organizations that graduates are called to serve. Master students build a Ministry Portfolio which is a usable, functioning body of work that demonstrates student’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. |
5 | Scholarship | Articulate knowledge, both oral and written, of essential biblical, theological, ministerial, and leadership methods, concepts, and frameworks. |
Seminary Program Overview
Genesis Seminary offers Master and Doctor degrees in Biblical Studies (M.B.S., D.B.S.) and Ministry (M. Min, D. Min). See “Program Prerequisites” for information regarding entrance requirements. The Seminary’s overarching goal is to develop Christ-exalting leaders who have built an unshakable biblical and theological foundation for life and ministry. Graduates will be able to skillfully read and write the original languages of the Bible. They will accurately employ exegetical and hermeneutical skills to their study of God’s Word, applying biblical truth to meet the needs of people. As leaders who have an unquenchable dire for Christ, graduates will be equipped to lead spirit-dilled ministries and fuldill God’s purpose for their lives.
